Here comes our weekly Culture Agenda:

28th Panorama of European Cinema (26 November-2 December)

Panorama of European Cinema, the longest-running film festival in Athens, returns for the 28th consecutive year (November 26 to December 2) to provide cinema buffs with over 50 films from Europe and around the world, promising an unforgettable viewing experience.

The festival’s programme includes films not seen before, tributes to renowned directors – from Orson Welles and Bertrand Tavernier, to John Cassavetes and Vassilis Vafeas – and a special tribute to the 40 years of the Greek Film Critics Association.

Keramikos neighbourhood unites Greek and French artists

The lively neighborhood of Keramikos in downtown Athens will turn central stage for an artistic experiment called “Project Kaos” from November 26 to December 4. The project is developed by French collective Pixel 13, Greek group ‘Among the Ants’, and six Greek artists.

Artists, performers, sound artists and architects will take part in the project to create a series of artistic events, art workshops, and activities open to the public. The outcome will be a digital-audio-visual installation that will be shown on the exterior walls of buildings in the area, as well as live site-specific artistic actions.

Santa Run Athens 2015

Santa Run, a famous charity race that takes place in many big cities around the world, will be held for the second consecutive year in central Athens on Sunday, November 29.

Runners of all ages will be dressed as Santa, running a symbolic race, without timing, where everyone will be a winner and supporter of a special cause. The race will be held in the city centre, and runners will cover a distance of approximately 2.5 km.

The event will add some Christmas cheer to the Greek capital, whilst contributing to a good cause, as all proceeds will be donated to ELIZA-Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

Paris! The Show

The Badminton Theater in Athens presents “Paris! The Show” on November 28 and 29. The musical was developed by director-producer Gil Marsalla and features popular French songs originally performed by Edith Piaf, Maurice Chevalier, Yves Montand, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet and Josephine Baker.
