𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 📖 “𝑨𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒔: 𝑨 𝑹𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒅𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒖𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉”

Over the past two decades, Athens has evolved from a quiet, isolated city in south-eastern Europe into a vibrant, internationally recognized metropolis. Yet, this transformation has come with growing inequalities and polarization.

🦉"Athens: A Rapidly Changing Metropolis in the European South", edited by 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐬, delves deep into this period, examining the city’s globalization and its impact on social structures and the built environment.

📖 The issues discussed in the book include the economic identity and the position of Athens in the regional and global urban networks; the reproduction of class and ethnic boundaries in urban space, class and gender voting patterns and demographic trends, the main trends in real estate and the ways they affect the housing market

🔎Despite remarkable social and spatial changes, Athens remains underrepresented in urban studies. This book fills that gap, offering a comprehensive view of its transformation and the lessons it holds for cities worldwide.

📍 Whether you're a researcher, student, or urban enthusiast, this book is your gateway to understanding the forces shaping one of Europe's most fascinating capitals.
