The impressive exhibition The Greeks: from Agamemnon to Alexander the Great has left its previous host’s premises, the Pointe-à-Callière Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History, and opened at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec - the country’s most visited museum –on June 4. Showcasing outstanding artifacts from 22 Greek Museums, the exhibition invites visitors on a journey through 5,000 years of Greek culture, from the Neolithic Era to the age of Alexander the Great.

These important exhibits provide the opportunity to familiarize visitors with Greek antiquity, the artistic brilliance of a civilization whose legacy the modern western world claims as an integral part of its common heritage.

Among the priceless artifacts – many of which are being exhibited outside Greece for the first time - are the iconic bust of Alexander the Great from Pella, the impressive statues of Archaic-period Kouri, and golden jewelry from famous tombs. The exhibition runs through October 2015.
