📯Sifnos has been designated as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), in the creative field of Crafts and Folk Art, thanks to its long tradition in the art of pottery.
Launched in 2004, the UCCN "aims to strengthen cooperation with and among cities that have recognized creativity as a strategic factor of sustainable development as regards economic, social, cultural and environmental aspects."
Sifnos has joined the UCCN along with 57 other cities from around the world, on World Cities Day 2025. With these new designations, the Network now includes 408 cities across more than 100 countries (
