This year, the 49th Drama International Short Film Festival welcomes cinephiles and filmmakers from around the world with 157 films, including 45 world premieres!

🏆 The winners of the top awards in the National and International Competition sections will automatically qualify for consideration in the Academy Awards® process. The Festival is also recognised by the European Film Academy and has recently gained qualification for the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), further confirming its position as Greece’s leading short film festival.

Outdoor film screenings in Greece date back to 1900. Within a few years, Athens had its first open-air cinemas, and by the 1960s, more than 600 dotted the city. Rooftops, parks, and vacant lots were transformed into enchanting summer settings, creating a uniquely Greek cinematic tradition.
