Open Cellar doors is back again this year, inviting everyone to familiarize themselves with excellent Greek Wines and share the secrets for quality wine from May 27 to May 28.
This is the ideal weekend to take an inspiring journey to a wine country with a long wine history and a food and wine culture. Dedicated to the culture of wine, the last weekend in May is a great chance to travel through picturesque landscapes of Greece and get acquainted with Greek indigenous and international grape varieties in wine cellars with tradition and history. Plan your own “getaway” and engrave your own wine route. One can taste some of the best wines in the numerous top-notch wineries where technology meets with the skills and professionalism of winemakers that allow Greece to obtain a level of excellence internationally.
Free entrance from morning to evening allows visitors to discover the diversity and secrets of indigenous Greek wines and to initiate themselves into their magical world. It is a great opportunity to enjoy vineyard settings, to get to know winemaking procedures and taste exceptional branded Greek varieties such as xinomavro-Naousa, Nemea-agiorgitiko, assyrtiko-Santorini and moschofilero-Mantinia. On Saturday May 27th and Sunday May 28th 2017, from 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening, wine amateurs will be given the opportunity to tour around the Wine Roads of Greece and participate in multiple activities which include tours, wine-tasting, competitions with great prizes and other surprises.

“Open Cellar Doors” is an initiative of the European network of Wine Cities (ReCEVin). It aims at disseminating and understanding the quality products from the different appellations of origin by organizing “events” focusing on the wine of every winery open to public. Wines of North Greece, Central Greece Wine Producers Association, Wine Producers Association of the Vineyard of Attica, The Wine Grower Association of the Peloponnese,Aegean Islands Wine Producers Association, Wines of Crete are the associations that along with their member-wineries organize this two-day event.
