On the occasion of Greek Language Day, Rethinking Greece interviewed Dimitrios Koutosgiannis, Professor Emeriturs of Educational Linguistics and associate president of the 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 (CGL).
📌Prof. Koutsogiannis speaks on the CGLs initiatives and digital tools, the profile of people interested in learning Greek in the Diaspora and beyond, and finally, on the need for comprehensive policy for teaching Greek outside Greece.
🥇Among the CGL's most successful programs is the certificate of attainment in Greek: 🎓Since 1999, the program has grown to 160 centers around the globe (even reaching places like Japan, Congo, and Tanzania!), with nearly 9,000 candidates in 2024 alone!
