The Hadrian Aqueduct of Athens | An marvel of ancient Roman engineering springs back to life

Hadrian’s Aqueduct in Athens is the only Roman aqueduct of this type and size that has been constructed in Europe and that still carries water. This monumental technical construction of the ancient world does not only have great cultural value, but it can also be utilized to reduce the city’s environmental footprint.

The Greek government is supporting a multi-dimensional plan to put this ancient aqueduct back into use, in order both to cover current needs for irrigation water, and to develop new places of cultural and environmental interest.

Outdoor film screenings in Greece date back to 1900. Within a few years, Athens had its first open-air cinemas, and by the 1960s, more than 600 dotted the city. Rooftops, parks, and vacant lots were transformed into enchanting summer settings, creating a uniquely Greek cinematic tradition.

🇯🇵🇬🇷 Η Ιαπωνία στη ΔΕΘ 2026 – Το ταξίδι ξεκινά!

Από 5 έως 13 Σεπτεμβρίου, η Ιαπωνία τιμώμενη χώρα της 90ής ΔΕΘ σας προσκαλεί στο Ιαπωνικό Περίπτερο, Περίπτερο 13, για ένα μοναδικό ταξίδι στον πολιτισμό, την παράδοση, την τεχνολογία και τη σύγχρονη Ιαπωνία.

Στο επίκεντρο βρίσκεται το TAKUMI (匠) – η διαρκής επιδίωξη της αριστείας μέσα από τη γνώση, τη δεξιοτεχνία, τη δημιουργικότητα.

🎌 Το πρόγραμμα ξεκινά το Σάββατο 5 Σεπτεμβρίου με τα επίσημα εγκαίνια του Ιαπωνικού Περιπτέρου και συζητήσεις υψηλού επιπέδου για τις οικονομικές σχέσεις Ελλάδας–Ιαπωνίας, την υγεία, τη φαρμακευτική βιομηχανία, το μέλλον της κινητικότητας, την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη και τον ψηφιακό μετασχηματισμό.

🥁 Τα παραδοσιακά ιαπωνικά taiko θα δώσουν τον ρυθμό στην έναρξη των εκδηλώσεων!

Και η Ιαπωνία θα συνεχίσει να μας ταξιδεύει καθημερινά:

🌱 Κυριακή 6/9 – Βιώσιμο Μέλλον
Φυσικές καταστροφές, βιώσιμες υποδομές, κινητικότητα, τουρισμός και σπουδές στην Ιαπωνία, μαζί με παραστάσεις shamisen, taiko και koto και συζήτηση με τον σεφ Σωτήρη Κοντιζά.

🎓 Δευτέρα 7/9 – Εκπαίδευση
Πανεπιστημιακή συνεργασία, νέοι και ευκαιρίες εκμάθησης της ιαπωνικής γλώσσας.

⚓ Τρίτη 8/9 – Ναυτιλία
Ένας από τους ισχυρότερους και πιο διαχρονικούς δεσμούς Ελλάδας και Ιαπωνίας.

🎌 Τετάρτη 9/9 – Manga, Anime & Content Industry
Ιαπωνική ποπ κουλτούρα, συζητήσεις, cosplay parade και μουσική εκδήλωση αφιερωμένη στον κόσμο των anime.

🥋 Πέμπτη 10/9 – Αθλητισμός
TAKUMI και ιαπωνικές πολεμικές τέχνες, παρουσιάσεις sumo, karate και kendo.

💼 Παρασκευή 11/9 – Επιχειρηματική Φιλοσοφία
Ιαπωνικές προσεγγίσεις στην ηγεσία, τη διοίκηση και τη δημιουργία βιώσιμων συνεργασιών.

🎨 Σαββατοκύριακο 12–13/9 – TAKUMI
Καλλιγραφία, κιμονό, Nihon Buyo, bonsai και επιδείξεις που αναδεικνύουν την ιαπωνική δεξιοτεχνία και πολιτιστική παράδοση.
