It is an initiative that seeks to redesign and digitize services provided by the Greek Consular Authorities worldwide, thereby enhancing their communication with Greek nationals residing abroad and providing faster and more efficient services.

UNESCO’s Executive Board has unanimously adopted the proposal to proclaim Feb 9 as World Greek Language Day. Backed by 87 member - states, this decision honors the unbroken continuity of 40 centuries of oral & 35 centuries of written tradition of the Greek language, its influence on all other European languages, as well as the fact that it remains to this day an inexhaustible source of international scientific terminology.

The official proclamation of February 9th as “World Greek Language Day” will take place during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in November 2025.

Easter holds a special place in the heart of Greek people, and has been the theme of many poems by significant Greek poets, such as Dionysios Solomos, Odysseas Elytis, Nikos Kazantzakis, Kostis Palamas, Angelos Sikelianos, Nikos Gatsos, Tasos Leivaditis, Giannis Varveris, Kiki Dimoula, etc.

The six songs of the Holy Week sequence, "Days of the Epitaph" by Nikos Gatsos are a tribute to Christ. The poet feels that Christ’s sacrifice was the ultimate manifestation of God’s love for people. All six songs are interspersed with frequent quotations, sometimes slightly modified, from the Bible and other religious texts, expressing the poet’s conviction that Christ is the only hope for mankind.
