With more than 100,000 attendees and 2,200 exhibitors from 200 countries, Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC) is the largest mobile technology event in the world. The exhibition -held from February 27 to March 2 in Barcelona- attracted global attention.

The Greek presence at the MWC 2017, was marked by great success. The national Pavilion was comprised of 25 Greek companies, research and academic institutions, with the objective to showcase the country’s initiatives and expertise in mobile technology and to promote Greek innovation and entrepreneurship to global markets. Another 5 Greek companies participated with their own pavilions. The Greek team included: Accesspal, Apifon, Cross Mobile, Cytech, DAEM, Echoleap, Ergon, Going Up, MLS, Motivian, M-Stat, Motivian, Pitchstor, Plustic, Pobuca, Regate, SoftWeb, Synaphea, Telenavis, Upcom, Vidavo, Viva Wallet, Warply etc. All Greek exhibitors presented the products and services of their innovative companies and startups, which are already operating successfully in international markets.

While visiting the Greek pavilion, Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Minister Nikolaos Pappas stated that Greece has the potential to plan its future, beyond the current phase of economic difficulty. As Greece emerges from the crisis we are also acquiring a national plan for using new technologies, Pappas added, pointing out that these technologies can help improve productivity and daily life, while making society more functional, fairer and more democratic. Pappas was also invited as a speaker at the session «Mobile for Innovation – Business Models Emerging and Driving Digital Information».

For the fifth consecutive year, the Hellenic Association of Mobile Applications Companies, in cooperation with Enterprise Greece organized and supported the Greek Pavilion at MWC 2017 with the support of the Association of IT and Communications Companies of Greece and Corallia as coordinator of technology clusters mi-Cluster (Nano/Microelectronics), si-Cluster (Space Technologies and Applications) and gi-Cluster (Creative Industries). The Greek participation in MWC 2017 had the support of the Greek state and was under the auspices of the Athens Stock Exchange.
