Symposium on Ioannis Kapodistrias in Koper/Capodistria

To mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ioannis Kapodistrias, a symposium dedicated to the multifaceted personality of Greece’s first Governor was held in Koper/Capodistria, bringing together distinguished speakers from Greece and Slovenia. The event also featured a screening of “Ioannis Kapodistrias: The Last Night” (2020), produced by MagentaTV.

The Embassy of Greece in Slovenia was delighted to collaborate with the University of Primorska in organising this commemorative event and celebrating this important anniversary in present-day Slovenia, a country with which Ioannis Kapodistrias shared historical and family ties. The symposium highlighted his enduring legacy as a prominent European statesman and his lasting significance for both Greece and Slovenia.
